Camera

Taking a reliable photo check-in

  1. Prop your phone upright where your whole body can remain visible.
  2. Even front lighting and clothing that leaves a clear outline can help a later fitted result. On Android, these are capture tips rather than extra photo-acceptance rules.
  3. Follow Pip’s front, left, back, and right prompts. Hold still when the frame turns ready; the App will count down hands-free.
  4. On Android, once Pip saves a photo, it stays accepted. There is no full-photo review gate after each angle. On iPhone only, if your release shows a full-photo review, you can use it before confirming that angle.
The camera is unavailable

Open your phone's Settings, find Pip, and allow Camera access. Close other apps using the camera, return to Pip, and try again. A physical Android phone or iPhone is required; simulators cannot validate real camera behaviour.

Pip keeps asking me to adjust

Keep enough of your body in view for the live prompt, keep the phone stable, and move only enough to address the single instruction shown on screen. Arm gaps are setup guidance, not a separate Android acceptance requirement. As soon as the Android frame turns ready, hold still for the hands-free countdown.

My result says capture consistency is low

On Android, a later fit or consistency check may be unable to produce a fitted result. The accepted photos stay saved and the completed photo set is not rejected; no recapture is required. If Pip offers a processing retry, you can use it without taking the photos again. “Low” describes capture consistency, not your body or an accuracy score.

Context

Weight and Apple Health

Import my latest weight from Apple Health

In Pip, open the height and weight update sheet and choose Apple Health. Allow read access to body weight when iOS asks. Pip reads only the latest available weight and its source; it never writes to Health.

No Apple Health weight was found

Confirm your scale or health app has written a body-weight sample to Apple Health, and confirm Pip has permission under Health access in iOS Settings. You can always enter weight manually instead.

Use a scale-app screenshot

Choose the screenshot option, select one image, and review the weight Pip reads on-device. Nothing is applied until you confirm it. If the number is wrong, cancel and enter it manually.

Your records

Exporting and deleting data

Export a copy

Open the Data area, choose “Export my Body Story”, review the warning, and select a destination in Apple’s share sheet. The destination controls the exported copy after it leaves Pip.

Delete a photo set

Open Log → Data & Privacy → Manage saved photo sets, then remove an earlier reference photo or a scan. Deleting a baseline also removes comparisons that depend on it.

Delete everything

On Android, open Today → Privacy & local data → Delete all local Pip data. On iPhone, open Log → Data & Privacy → Delete all Body Story data. After confirmation, Pip removes the local profile, photos, scans, derived records, and supported AI service data. Remote deletion can briefly show as pending while Pip verifies completion. It does not delete Apple Health samples.

Privacy by design

AI scans and private data

What leaves my phone?

In iPhone Build 48, nothing leaves for a scan until you choose “Agree & start scan”. Pip sends prepared photo copies and limited body context to OpenAI for analysis. It also sends the four full, metadata-stripped photos—including face, hair, clothes, and visible surroundings—to Pip's private Modal service to create your fitted 3D body. The scan screen tells you this before you agree.

What does the AI scan not send?

The body-analysis request does not include your name, treatment log, symptoms, notes, or Journey entries. AppsFlyer receives only basic install, session, and onboarding events, not body or health information. RevenueCat receives membership information, not your Body Story.

What about Android?

The current Android production release also keeps Body Story photos and Ask Pip answers on-device; its experimental remote-avatar path is disabled. Android platform diagnostics and membership purchase processing, where available, are explained in the Privacy Policy.

Do I need an internet connection?

An internet connection is required to create an iPhone AI scan, use an optional Ask Pip AI answer, buy or restore membership, and use online export destinations. You can still revisit supported saved records and local Ask Pip answers without the AI service. Do not email body photos, health records, or a Body Story export to support.

Apple & Google

Membership

Buy or restore membership

Choose the weekly or monthly plan on Pip's paywall. Apple or Google shows the final local price before purchase. If you already bought an eligible membership, choose Restore Purchases on the paywall or in Pip's privacy and membership area.

Manage or cancel

On iPhone, manage Pip under Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android, use Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Deleting Pip or its data does not cancel an active subscription.

The paywall is unavailable

Check your internet connection and try again. Both the weekly and monthly products must be available from the app store for Pip to show the purchase options. Contact support with the exact message if it continues.

Describe what you were doing, what appeared on screen, your phone model, and your Android or iOS and Pip versions. Please do not attach body photos, health records, medication documents, or a full Body Story export unless a specific secure process is provided and you choose to use it.
