How we ranked
We ranked on how much each app lets you record about a symptom, with one point each for a built-in symptom list, a way to add your own symptoms or describe them in your own words, a severity rating for each symptom, and a record of when a symptom started or how long it lasted. Ties went to the app that does more to place symptoms next to your doses, where a check-in prompted after each dose beats a shared timeline; then to free side-effect logging; then to US ratings. Pip Body Scan comes last: its daily check-in is quick, but it has no severity per symptom and no notes.
What a side-effect log can and can’t do
A log helps you remember what happened and when, so you can describe it clearly to your prescriber or pharmacist. It can’t tell you whether a symptom is expected, serious or caused by your medicine, and none of the apps here say they can. Glowise says plainly that its tracker can’t assess severity or identify a cause.
If you’re worried about a symptom, contact the person who prescribed your medicine, a pharmacist or your doctor, rather than waiting for a pattern to show up in an app.
Making a log worth keeping
Whichever app you use, a few habits make the record easier to read later.
- Log at about the same time each day, so days compare fairly.
- Make sure each dose is logged, so symptoms line up with the right day.
- Add what you ate or drank when it seems relevant.
- Bring the log, or an export, to your appointment.
What Pip Body Scan’s check-in records
Daily Pulse asks how you feel on five levels, which of nine symptoms you have (or none), and your appetite. Each shot also records any site reaction. After six or more check-ins across two or more shots, Pip notes which day after a shot you tend to feel lowest. It says it doesn’t diagnose symptoms or link them to your treatment.
Which one fits you?
- MeAgain
- You want to rate each symptom from 0 to 10 and see it beside your food and water, for free.
- Phaze
- You want a long symptom list, a reminder to check in after each dose and a PDF to share.
- Glapp
- Appetite, food noise, mood and sleep matter to you as much as nausea does.
- Glowise
- You’d rather describe how you feel in your own words, with timing and how long it lasted.
- Shotsy
- You want side effects in the same free log as your doses and weight, plus a PDF for your doctor.
- Pip Body Scan
- A quick daily check-in is enough, and you want it next to a weekly 3D body scan.
Questions people ask.
Will a side effect tracker tell me if a symptom is normal?
No. These apps record what you log. Whether a symptom is expected, and what to do about it, are questions for your prescriber, pharmacist or doctor.
Which GLP-1 side effect tracker is free?
MeAgain, Phaze, Glapp and Shotsy include side-effect logging in their free versions. Glowise is free to download, with a paid Plus tier. Pip Body Scan needs a membership.
